A national gigabit connection voucher (grant) scheme has just launched. Neighbouring businesses can pool their £3k vouchers so this could be really beneficial in Ashley Road:
Ultrafast Broadband Connection Grants for SME Businesses and Residents in Poole
The Borough of Poole’s Economic Development Team have identified an opportunity for small and medium-sized enterprises (SME) and their neighboring residential properties to get grants to connect to faster broadband through a new national Gigabit Broadband Voucher Scheme.
The £67m national investment will provide funding for future-proof full fibre connections for businesses and the homes around them.
Businesses can claim up to £3,000 against the cost of gigabit-capable (1,000 megabits) internet connections, either individually or as part of a group. Joining together with other neighbouring businesses and residential customers to pool vouchers can boost the value – e.g. industrial estates, town and district centres, office developments etc.
Residents can benefit from the scheme too if they are part of a group project which also includes businesses, and can claim a voucher with a value of up to £500.
Using a faster, better broadband offers many benefits to businesses including:
- increased productivity and improved customer service through uploading and downloading massive files in seconds
- increasing reliability and resilience
- future proofing the business
- increased security: and
- enabling widespread use of video conferencing throughout an organisation
Act now, as we expect demand will be very high for this scheme and vouchers will be issued on a first-come, first-served basis so are likely to run out
